Turkey to expand trade with Lanka

A Turkish trade delegation comprising 16 top members of the Electrical Electronics and Service Exporters’ Association (TET), affiliated to the Turkish Ministry of Economy will be in Sri Lanka from November 3 to 4.

The Turkish delegation will be welcomed at a ceremony at Hotel Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo on November 3. The keynote speech will be delivered by Turkish Ambassador Tunca Özcuhadar and TET Chairman Fatih Kemal Ebiclioglu.

The representatives of the Turkish companies will explore investment opportunities with their Sri Lankan counterparts.

TET is the premier association in Turkey for exporters of electrical and electronics. The main objective of TET is to enhance economic ties with other countries in the electrical, electronics and service industries on behalf its 6,500 members.

Turkey is a leading producer and exporter of electrical and electronic products with exports to over 150 countries. The total turnover of exports of electrical and electronic products is estimated at US$ 14 billion, which highlights the strength and competitiveness of the Turkish electrical and electronic industry. Sri Lanka’s exports to Turkey in 2015 reached US$ 150 million and the delegation’s visit will create more opportunities for the Sri Lankan electrical and electronics sector.
