Jetwing Symphony - Rs. 396 m revenue in Q3 FY 2019/20

1 March, 2020

Jetwing Symphony PLC recorded a revenue of Rs. 396 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2019. The revenue for the quarter decreased by 18% compared to the last financial year due to the decrease in expected tourist arrivals.

Chairman of Jetwing Symphony, Hiran Cooray said, “It is pleasing to see tourism re-energised by the growth in arrivals in December and continuing on into January. We were recovering well from the impact of last year’s unfortunate incident, but now we will need to be cautious and watch the outcome of the Novel Corona Virus on global tourism and how it will affect our future performance, as it is too early to judge.

“On a positive note, we were extremely excited to welcome the first guests to Jetwing Kandy Gallery, the company’s sixth hotel in the country, which opened its doors to the public on January 21, 2020. The property offers personalised butler service, a stunning pool, spa facilities and many other modern luxuries that give guests an unforgettable experience.

“We also had unprecedented press coverage and international awareness of Jetwing Yala, Jetwing Safari Camp and Sri Lankaowing to a video of‘Natta Kota’ (an elephant who frequents the property)going viral online,” he said.

Jetwing Symphony PLC comes under the Jetwing Family of hotels.
