
In commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Finance Houses Association of Sri Lanka (FHA), an islandwide tree-planting initiative was held on June 5 - World Environment Day.
The primary objective of this environmental day initiative was to contribute towards the reduction of the national carbon footprint by planting the highest number of plants in a single day in collaboration with the FHA member corporates. The main event was held at Independence Square.
As a fellow member of FHA, People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC) took part in this environmental initiative while contributing to the advancement of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. PLC planted 14,195 saplings at 92 locations in the Western, Southern, Central, North Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces with the active voluntary participation of staff members at the branch footprint of PLC.
The tree planting project carried out by PLC Aluthgama, Awissawella, Badulla, Balangoda, Dambulla, Digana, Gampola, Kandy, Kandy Al-Safa, Katugastota, Kegalle, Maharagama, Matale, Mawanella, Nawalapitiya, Neluwa, Nugegoda, Pelmadulla, Pilimathalawa, Rathnapura, Wellawatte, Panadura, Horana, Kirindiwela, Kalawana, Godakawela, Embilipitiya, Galle, Deniyaya, Tangalle, Hanwella, Homagama, Moratuwa, Pettah, Kaluthara and Warakapola branches.
