‘Air Seychelles’ launches flights to Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Tourism welcomed the inaugural flight of ‘Air Seychelles’ from Seychelles to Colombo last week carrying 110 passengers.

This flight an Airbus A320 Neo aircraft touched down at 3.50 am and was welcomed by a water cannon salute at the BIA followed by a traditional Kandyan dance performance and a ceremony to welcome the guests. Acting CEO of Air Seychelles, Sandy Benoiton, Head of Commercial, Air Seychelles, Nicole Mancienne, Principal Secretary Tourism, Seychelles, Ms. Sherin Francis and Director Tourism, Seychelles, Ms. Bernadette Willemin and Market Officer for American and African Regions, Ms. Danojani Weerasinghe were present. There will be two flights operating weekly.

Sri Lanka Tourism is arranging two familiarisation tours for trade and media partners from Seychelles and South Africa collaborating with Aitken Spence to create greater awareness about Sri Lanka as a tourist destination.
