SHATEC (Singapore Hotel Association Tourism Education Sector) established in 1983 and owned by Singapore Hotel Association has equipped Singapore's hospitality industry with a skilled workforce.
They conduct the following diploma programs:
- WSQ Diploma in Hotel Management,
- WSQ Diploma in Culinary Arts
- WSQ Diploma in Pastry and Baking
- WSQ Diploma in Event Management.
This Hotel Apprenticeship program is of 18 months duration of which student will learn full time for the first 3 months and then continue their diploma in the form of internship for the next 15 months at star hotels in Singapore with a monthly allowance of SGD 1300.
As the training arm of Singapore Hotel Association (SHA), SHATEC students are with over 160 SHA registered establishments for their Industrial Attachment. SHATEC offers a 20% [SGD 3,700] scholarship for Sri Lankan students for the upcoming intakes in October 2023. Students are eligible to apply with the GCE Ordinary Levels and they will be selected through a simple interview process by Singapore representatives.
SHATEC offers pathways for students who would like to pursue their degrees in Australia, the UK, Canada and Switzerland.
