Huskies Holdings Ltd. has expanded from a concept to a community of future athletes.
The unexpected opportunity to coach two young girls for their school team selection grew into a full-fledged academy that prepares kids from three years.
Our 350 lively kids, who joined our family on December 10, 2018, are the most gifted you’ll ever meet. Our teachers work hard. Our inventor and head coach, Sandeep Gunaratna, and five coaches — Sanjaan, Rushdy, Sandali, Chrimesh, Manesh, and Shehan for basketball and Alma and Hasali for roller skating — complete the ultimate group.
The journey has been full with challenges and successes, all of which were overcome and enjoyed. Our academy is unique. From three until adolescence, we educate. Due to student variety, we have designed training approaches for each age group. To maintain teaching quality, we appoint a minimum of two teachers every session for beginner and intermediate players. Coaches make sure kids execute the activity appropriately. Our kids’ verbal and physical skills are often praised. Our instructors customize education by remembering each child’s strengths and weaknesses. Our strategy boosts student enthusiasm and performance. Kids love our beach camp. Fun activities and routines improve endurance and teamwork. Our kids love December 10th.
The COVID-19 pandemic is our greatest danger. Online workouts for youngsters were our first step. Because not all households had basketball courts, we discussed ways to avoid the plague. For covid safety and social distance, we created frames with transparent sheets to divide our youngsters. To avoid harmful interaction with students, coaches wore the correct clothing. We experienced no illnesses since we restricted practice sessions to three students and took the necessary safeguards.
Basketball and rollerskating are secondary to Huskies. Huskies is a conglomerate. Due to COVID-19 lockdowns, we distributed our own clothes. We were happy to sell out three days after launch. More amazing gear is coming. Launching our Huskies court was our best success in four years. In five months, we built our ideal home. Since we wanted to move into our own place, Sandeep and Sanjaan worked hard to build our dream court swiftly. A café, gaming stations, a sports equipment store, and a tuition center will operate at the new court in the coming months. Rent the court. 7am-11pm is our shift. Basketball, futsal, tennis, and handball will be offered. Decathlon was our practicing ground before our apartment. Thank you, Decathlon, for four years of support! It’s been interesting. Despite several obstacles, we always responded to the unexpected. We’ve learnt nothing is predictable or guaranteed. For instance, we set up our own court quickly. It simply takes a concept, the appropriate mindset, and most importantly, the right intention. Everything will work out if you’re true to yourself! Strength, technique, morale, and character are what we educate the next generation of athletes. We’ve developed a community of athletes, not an academy, and we’re humbled by our journey.
