India’s Adani Green Energy Ltd, a member of the Adani Group of Companies, has received Board of Investment approval to set up two wind power plants in Mannar and Pooneryn in the Northern Province.
The total investment would be USD 442 million and the construction work will be completed in two years.
According to BOI officials, the construction of the proposed renewable energy projects is due to be completed in December next year.
The power plant in Mannar will generate around 250 MW and the one in Pooneryn - 100 MW and will provide nearly 1,500-2,000 employment opportunities.
