
It is important to strengthen policy to minimise money laundering and illegal remittances among all countries, said State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe.
He was speking to Deputy Minister of Economy, and Finance of Italy, Prof. Maurizio Leo at the Ministry of Finance of Italy during an official visit to Italy.
While explaining how Sri Lanka works with a strategic plan to overcome the economic crises, State Minister Semasinghe said that Sri Lanka, in its economic recovery, would promote more MoUs with regard to Trade, tourism and investments.
Ways to strengthen the trade between Sri Lanka and Italy and to promote economic relations between the two countries were also discused.
He said that steps have been taken to obtain the approval of the International Monetary Fund and the support of the Italian Republic is expected for that.
