Bar Association Toastmasters Club appoints new office-bearers

The Toastmasters Club of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka held its third installation ceremony for the Executive Committee for 2022/2023.

The club officers installed were Stephanie Fa’Rouke, AAL – President, Shamara Firdous, AAL – Vice President – Education, Dinukshi Bandaranayake, AAL – Vice President – Membership, Harithriya Kumarage, AAL – Vice President – Public Relations, Kaushalya Rasnayake – Secretary, Sehan Soyza, AAL – Treasurer and Arshad Hamza, AAL – Sergeant-at-Arms.

The chief guest was His Lordship the HonourableChief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya P. C., and the Guest of Honour was Distinguished Toastmaster Nisal Weerakoon DTM, District Director – District 82.

The welcome address was delivered by the Secretary of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, Isuru Balapatapandi, AAL, and a compelling keynote speech was delivered at the ceremony by the President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka Saliya Peiris, P. C.

The occasion was graced by the members of the judiciary, President’s Counsels, officers of the Attorney General’s Department, and other distinguished members of the legal fraternity. Further, the occasion was witnessed by Distinguished Toastmaster Mahinda Karunakara, Program Quality Director of District 82, and numerous members of the Toastmasters fraternity.

The installing officer at the event was the Area Director of Area G1 and Immediate Past President, Shenali Dias AAL, and the inducting officer for the new member induction was the Club’s charter President Chamath Fernando, AAL.

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka Toastmasters Club offers members of the legal fraternity an opportunity to improve their communication and leadership skills in a comfortable and supportive environment. The new Executive Committee is committed to maintaining the high standards set by the previous Executive Committees and taking the club to new heights.
