The Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council (SLCBC) of Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan to sponsor children for heart surgery.

With over 3,000 children born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in Sri Lanka each year, the donation of funds will be of direct benefit to children on Lady Ridgeway Hospital’s waiting list, giving them a life-altering chance to undergo surgery which could help them lead a normal and healthy adult life.

SLCBC members contributed Rs. 500,000. (Prima Rs. 150,000, Ceyline Shipping Rs. 100,000, Thames International, McLarens Group, SLCBC and Infomate Rs. 50,00 each, Spillburg Holdings, and Lidecshi Group Rs. 25,000 each.

SLCBC is mandated to provide a Structured Forum for the Sri Lanka Business Community, promote Bilateral Trade and Investment activities between Sri Lanka and Canada. It is also mandated to embrace social responsibility as a good corporate citizen.
