Dialog Axiata donation meets essential oxygen needs of 12 hospitals

Cumulative Investments by Dialog Towards Health Care Sector Development Exceed Rs. 400 Million

As part of its ongoing commitment to empower the national health care efforts amidst the pandemic, Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, donated essential Oxygen Concentrators to the Ministry of Health (MOH) to distribute to 12 hospitals across Sri Lanka.

These 10L oxygen concentrators, complete with in-built plants to produce Oxygen and fill the cylinders, will be distributed among 12 hospitals and Covid-19 treatment centers selected by the MOH, covering all provinces to treat critical Covid-19 and other respiratory cases. This donation follows a multitude of similar projects by Dialog to empower the national health care efforts during the pandemic, with investments totaling Rs. 446 Million to date.

Keheliya Rambukwella, Minister of Health said, “With the whole world getting affected by the pandemic, we had to harvest whatever possible within the system in the country and Dialog came forward in a big way to assist us in all activities wherever possible.”.

Supun Weerasinghe, Group Chief Executive of Dialog Axiata PLC said, “We are grateful to the Government, the Ministry of Health and all those working tirelessly on the frontline for their collective efforts in mitigating the pandemic. We are pleased to donate these Oxygen Concentrators to these 12 hospitals that require this equipment the most, as selected by the MOH.”

“We remain committed to supporting the national COVID-19 mitigation endeavours,” he said.
