Spa Ceylon expands to Middle East

20 February, 2022

Spa Ceylon Ayurveda Wellness, a luxury ayurveda chain, opened its first Middle Eastern location at the Mall of Arabia in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; commencing their strategic entry to the wellness and beauty markets in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.

Planned Middle Eastern expansion will see new locations opening in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Muscat in Oman and in Kuwait.

“As a brand, we pride ourselves on understanding global customer preferences and engaging with them. With this in mind, we have considered the uniqueness of this region, in terms of the people, climate, culture and their lifestyles, and have begun to create a uniquely customised regional offering,” said Managing Director and Co-founder, Spa Ceylon, Shiwantha Dias.

“We have combined luxury ayurveda with the romance of old Ceylon and vintage Middle Eastern design elements, to roll out an Eid celebration themed Festive Gift collection to this market.”

Co-founder Shalin Balasuriya said, “Given the growth of wellness and interest in natural ingredients in the post-Covid era, we believe Spa Ceylon has great potential in this market and the brand’s combination of the age-old ayurveda wisdom, fine natural ingredients and the cultural aspects of Ceylon will carve out a unique positioning that will resonate with the Middle Eastern clientele.”

Spa Ceylon aims to expand its global presence in FY22/23 with 25 new locations, to reach an expanded 150 store footprint in over 25 countries across five continents. The brand plans to open several new markets in Europe.
