The Royal College Past Teachers’ Association (RCPTA) which started in 1994 celebrated its 27th anniversary at Waters’ Edge recently. The event was sponsored by the OBA group of 90 of Royal College.
Although the RCPTA started only with a few members, presently its membership has escalated up to 500 with a sound financial backup. It has launched a multiplicity of welfare projects for its members, remote schools in the island and even for society at large.
The Association has a scholarship project for the benefit of the hostellers of Royal College and all the expenses of several selected students of the hostel are borne by some donors through this venture.
RCPTA has launched another project in supplying purified water for the students of some remote schools.
