House of Fashions Sri Lanka salutes heroes

27 September, 2020

For all we know, Covid-19 is a deadly pandemic that you and I can catch, anytime and anywhere. To staunch its spread, affected countries took certain action with Sri Lanka imposing the movement control order (MCO).

First and foremost the pandemic wouldn’t have been under control without the leadership and guidance of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Thanks to the Army and IDH Staff who put the nation first before self and risk their life to contain the pandemic, for us. ‘Covid-19’ Pandemic has been brought under control within a short time period in Sri Lanka compared to other countries. Without the sacrifices and the dedications of SL Army and IDH staff it wouldn’t be possible.

Unwittingly, there are also other people we should be thanking - the invisible supporting the visible, specifically those who are not able to stay at home because they work in the essential services.

The people who long to be at home with the families but had to make sacrifices beyond their call of duty.

They too, work round the clock tirelessly. There was never any outcry amid not being highly recognized nor accolade. While juggling with their role as a father, a mother, a brother, a sister at home, these heroes are out in the offices and sites braving the outbreak to keep government operations going.

They had no guarantee of not being exposed to the virus.

Thank you for not staying at home and for benevolently serving the nation as the backbones in the essential services.

The least we could do to return their favour is, ironically, to stay at home. Thanks may cost nothing, but this time it costs us to stay put where we are. We as ‘House of fashions’ (South Asia’s Largest Single Owner Department Store) salute our heroes and made them overwhelming through our industrial products by offering them a 30 % discount for the total bill of their purchased items.

Whatever happens, as Sri Lankans are in this together, we sink and survive as a nation.

We could be physically isolated from each other but in reality, we are staying together in spirit. We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.

If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.
