The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE), welcomes the strong mandate given by the people at the general election, for a pro-growth government, a media release from the Chamber stated.
The NCE congratulating the new Government expressed its fullest support for the development of a strong and pro-growth policy framework by the new administration which will create a conducive environment for socio-economic development.
The Chamber appreciates that certain industries have been considered favourably under the new regime which will support the development of the country. Being an Export Chamber, it will collate concerns by its members and submit proposals to line ministries to facilitate exports.
The special setting for women entrepreneurs was set up in 2018 to encourage and motivate women-owned and women-led businesses to contribute to the economy through the empowerment of women entrepreneurs and exporters.
The Chamber played a pivotal role together with other stakeholders during the height of the The NCE set up two help desks with Ernest & Young and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) to support the SME sector businesses affected by the pandemic.
The release added that they strongly believe that exporters should play a pivotal role with the support of the government to reach the height of exports for wealth generation and foreign exchange income and the NCE looks forward to working in partnership with ministries, government agencies and market intermediaries to actively support the government’s vision of development.
