Chevron conducts training program for German Tech students

Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC conducted a training program on lubricant technology for final year students of Ceylon-German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) in Ratmalana, for the 18th time recently.

Around 250 students, Director / Principal, senior representatives of CGTTI and Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC were present.

This training program is conducted to equip the future generation of automobile engineers with the latest and the most advanced knowledge on automotive lubrication technology. The program is specially designed to enhance CGTTI student’s knowledge with a more practical and insightful understanding of the lubricant technology and industry dynamics to meet the knowledge demands of local and global employers.

The program is structured to cover eight modules in four weeks by a panel of lubricant technology experts from Chevron. This training program covers the subjects of Lubrication Fundamentals and Formulations, Petrol Engine Oils, Diesel Engine Oils, Gear Oil and Auto Transmission Fluids, Hydraulic Systems and Hydraulic Oils, Lubricant Storage and Handling Practices and Health, Safety, Environment aspects of lubrication.

At the end of this training program, the students received the opportunity to sit for a written examination, enabling them to receive recognition for the knowledge gained from this training program.

Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC has been at the forefront in uplifting the industry standards through empowering and developing the skills of the future workforce through training programs conducted not only for the students of CGTTI, but for students at other Technical Training Institutes in Sri Lanka, a company spokesman said.
