The annual Edex Mid-Year Expo and Job Fair 2019, catering to youth wishing to pursue higher education will be held on September 7-8, at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC).
The press conference launching the event took place at the Royal College Skills Centre in Colombo 7 last week. The Edex Mid-Year Expo will be graced by chief guest, Ambassador of Japan, Akira Sugiyama and guest of honour, Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, President of CMA Sri Lanka.
Marking the 16th consecutive year, and with over 7,000 students from public, private and international schools expected to attend this year’s event.
The exhibition will also facilitate spot admissions to selected academic, vocational, technical and professional courses and postgraduate programs offered by both local and foreign educational institutions.
Edex Chairman, Mahinda Galagedara said, “The Edex exhibition explicitly reflects the importance of higher education opportunities for students, consequent to their school career.”
The National Cleaner Production Centre Sri Lanka (NCPC) will partner with Edex Think Green. Visitors could explore new specialisations and career pathways in sustainability and management. NCPC is a non-profit organisation under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce which aims to assist enterprises in adopting cleaner and sustainable production. They provide a range of services such as training and accreditation, capacity building, consultancy and auditing.
Training programs conducted by them cover a broad range of topics such as energy management, energy auditing, consultant training, corporate environmental sustainability, health and safety and waste management.
