The Sri Lanka Chamber of Small and Medium Industries (SLCSMI) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HCP Consulting, a business and management consulting firm providing consulting and grooming services to the SMEs and start-ups, for collaboration to assist small and medium scale industrialists in the country.
SLCSMI was set up to promote small and medium scale industries in Sri Lanka while functioning as the apex body of SMEs in dealing with stakeholders and agencies, including the government. The Chamber offers services and initiatives to promote the SMEs. ‘SLCSMI Industrial Excellence Awards’ is one of the flagship events in the annual calendar of Sri Lankan industries.
HCP Consulting Chairman Chaminda Kumarasiri said, “Our tagline, ‘Our Business is Growing Your Business’ depicts our value proposition. Our operating model with experts and service providers enables us to deliver what it takes to grow a business to the next level. While serving SMEs and Start-ups, we were looking for an opportunity to contribute towards the national SME development agenda. The SLCSMI is the best vehicle for our mission.”
“I am grateful to the Executive Committee of SLCSMI, specially, the immediate past president, Mohideen Cader, for their cooperation in this collaboration. This partnership will add greater value to the SME development agenda of the country,” he said.
HCP Consulting will support the SLCSMI to strategise its SME agenda while functioning as a catalyst in the execution.
The parties will collaborate to explore other means to strengthen the SME ecosystem in the country, especially, via national and international partnerships.
“SLCSMI, with a legacy of over 50 years, has been supporting the back-bone of the Sri Lankan economy in multiple ways. In this volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world with increasing competition and digitisation, it is not an easy task to strategise our mission without the input of experts,” SLCSMI President Rohan de Silva said.
