Ceylon Chamber meeting on bribery and corruption

A Breakfast Meeting organized by the Council for Business with Britain of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be held on April 20 at the Hilton Colombo Residences.

The meeting which will discuss bribery and corruption risks faced by modern corporate firms and how they affect governance, will be moderated by Managing Partner of KPMG Sri Lanka, Reyaz Mihular. Titled ‘Corporate Governance: Staying ahead of Bribery and Corruption Risk’, the meeting will feature: British High Commissioner for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, James Dauris, Director General of Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, Sarath Jayamanna, Senior Vice President, Global Ethics and Compliance of GlaxoSmithKline Plc, Nick Hirons, and Group Finance Director of John Keells Holdings Plc, Ronnie Peiris, who will share their thoughts on the topic.

The discussion will also focus on How the corporate governance agenda at a global level influences the local environment, Trends in enforcement action and its impact; what is the learning for business in Sri Lanka and What does good corporate governance look like for diversified local businesses – practical guidance on how to manage risks.
