The eighth edition of the international exhibition for the textile and garment sector of Sri Lanka, ‘Textech Sri Lanka’ will be held for three days from March 9 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre in Colombo.
The Textech Sri Lanka 2017 will focus on textile and garment technology and machinery along with concurrent exhibitions Dye+Chem Sri Lanka 2017 international expo, an international exhibition on dyes and fine and specialty chemicals and Colombo International Yarn and Fabric show 2017.
“The three exhibitions are the three most important exhibitions for the textile and garment sector where machinery, yarn, fabric, accessories, dyes and chemicals are displayed under one roof.
We have been conducting exhibitions for the last 17 years in the South Asia where we have seven offices. We conduct 40 shows of different aspects on annual basis,” CEMS Global USA and Asia Pacific Group CEO S.S. Sarwar said.
“The CEMS USA entered Sri Lankan market after the war was ended in 2009. The first show was held in 2010 with 20 to 30 companies participating. However, the 8th edition will showcase 220 companies both local and foreign. There are over 170 international companies with China topping the foreign company list,” he said.
Sri Lanka has become an important destination for apparel and with the expectation of regaining the GSP + facility, the country’s production is at a favourable demand. It has also help to increase the number of foreign companies participating at the exhibition.
The expo which is a B2B platform will support the development of trade and business in Sri Lanka, he said. CEMS Global launched an important international trade exhibition for the trade and industry in Sri Lanka with a vision to further expand into the fast booming Sri Lankan industry sector and bring most reputed international manufactures and suppliers through its exhibitions to Sri Lanka. - SJ
