Beijing Automobile teams up with Micro Cars

Beijing Automobile International Corporation (BAIC) has made its way to Sri Lanka to give the local consumer a taste of an affordable world-class engineering and elegant design.

Introducing its iconic compact SUV, the X25 exhibits youthfulness and vibrancy with an impressive exterior and a long list of high-end options ranging from high-performance all-aluminum engine, Aisin second-generation automatic transmission, multifunction steering, high-quality 6-way sound system, rain-sensing wipers and push start.

With an ABS, EBD, BA (Brake Assist System) and a BOS (Brake Override System) powered by BOSCH helps control the vehicle more effectively.

BAIC has selected Sri Lanka’s home-grown automobile manufacturer, Micro Cars Ltd as its partner for the Sri Lankan market.With the rapid growth in demand for Electric Vehicles (EV) Micro Cars will venture into assembling of the first EV in Sri Lanka with BAIC’s latest Electric Vehicle EC180 EV. It was launched in China last month. The EC 180 EV will be equipped with a ‘Ternary Lithium Battery’ that has a capacity of 20.3 kWh, the ability to go on slow charge and also has a charging kit and charger unit. On a full charge the car could run up to 156 kilometres, which is in par with the latest EVs available in the island. Micro Cars plans to revolutionise the Sri Lankan EV market with the EC 180 EV in the future.
