Hidellana Estate obtains record tea price

At the Colombo Tea Auctions conducted on January 9 and 10, an invoice of D1 grade from Hidellana Tea Factory, Ratnapura fetched a record price of Rs. 660 per kg bettering the previous record of Rs. 650 also held by Hidellana.

This estate is owned by Lalith Liyanage of the diversified RTS Holdings Group of Companies, who emphasized that ‘good manufacturing practices’ are being strictly followed at his factory which today has modern and up-to-date machinery.

This tea was sold through the catalogue of Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd.
