Ceylon Chamber to strengthen trade ties with Tajikistan

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan to further promote trade and commercial activities between private sector partners in Sri Lanka and Tajikistan, during the ‘Sri Lanka–Tajikistan Business Forum’, at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, Colombo last week.

Chief Executive Officer of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Dhara Wijayatilake and Minister of Economic Development and Trade in Tajikistan, Nematullo Hikmatullozoda signed the MoU.

President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rishad Bathiudeen and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Harsha de Silva were also present.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, coordinated efforts will be made to promote business opportunities, joint ventures, initiate partnerships and arrange visits of business delegations.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has already signed 127 Memoranda of Understanding to expand and further strengthen strong relationships with overseas trade promotion organizations for the benefit of business community in Sri Lanka.
