
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), the premier business Chamber in the country, won a Gold award under the ‘Not for Profit Organizations (NPO), including Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) sector’ at the 52nd Annual Report Awards of the CA Sri Lanka recently.
Deputy Secretary General and the Financial Controller of the Chamber, Alikie Perera, accepted the award on behalf of the CCC. The Ceylon Chamber first entered this competition in 2006 and has won awards each year thereafter. This is the eighth time the Chamber won the Gold under this category since winning for the first time in 2007.
CEO of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Dhara Wijayatilake said, “While being extremely proud of the Chamber team for sustaining high standards the award also stands testimony to the high importance we place on being an organization that places value on transparency and accountability.
The Chamber will continue its commitment to maintain high standards of governance in compliance with our core principle of being a responsible organization, serving the country.”
With a history spanning over five decades, the Annual Report Awards Competition has helped Sri Lankan firms improve transparency and accountability in financial reporting, while also enhancing Sri Lanka’s reporting standards in line with global best practices.
The competition, which selects winners based on stringent criteria evaluated by a panel of judges comprising professionals from the private and the public sectors.
