The Lenovo-Abans Product Launch & Mobile Phone Key Partners Get-Together 2016 was recently held at Hotel Ozo, Colombo on Friday, 21st October 2016. This event signified Abans’ goal of recognizing the achievements of its key mobile phone partners for the year 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. It also celebrated Abans’ giant leap forward towards the next innovation in Smartphone technology with the official product launch of the latest Lenovo Vibe C Series Smartphones.
Mr. Sudhin Mathur, Executive Director, Lenovo, graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Mr. Sunil Verma, Country Manager, Lenovo Sri Lanka, attended the event as the guest of honour.
Dignitaries from ABANS PLC were also in attendance, namely, Mr. Tito Pestonjee, Managing Director, and Deputy Directors, Mr. Dinesh Perera, and Mr. Buddhika Dharmawardana.
This was followed by the product launch of the Lenovo Vibe C Series where Mr. Sunil Verma officially introduced and launched the newest range of Lenovo smartphones. The event also rewarded the exceptional achievements attained by Abans’ key partners with round-the-world trips and other prizes.
The prize for the Most Promising Promoters were awarded to Tharindu Sirimalwattha -- Thilakawardana Cellular Center, Kiribathgoda, Gayan Kodagoda – Siriwardna& Sons, and Suranaga Sandaruwa – Navodya Cellular Ratnapura for the year 2014/2015, as well as, Nilakshi Rupasinghe – Champa Stores, Kandy, Mohomed Nafras – Mobile Vision, Galle, and Roshan Sanjeewa – Sawana Cellular, Nitambuwa, for the year 2015/2016.
The winners of the Best Promoter -- Highest Sell Out were Mohomed Nafras – Mobile Vision, Galle, for the year 2014/2015 and Roshan Sanjeewa, Sawana Cellular, Nitambuwa for the year 2015/2016.
The 1st runners-up were Sameera Madushanka – Opsell Phone Gallery, Malabe, (2014/2015), and Aruna – Walk & Talk, Raddolugama (2015/2016), while Thuwanshan – Thilakawardana Cellular Center, Gampaha, was awarded 2nd runner up for both the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 sales periods.
For the Best Sell Out award category, the winners were Thilakawardana Cellular Centre, Kiribathgoda, and Sawana Cellular, Nittambuwa for 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 respectively. The 1st runners-up were Ranga Shopping Centre, Panadura for the year 2014/2015 and Indika Phone Shop, Matara, for 2015/2016, while Mobile Vision, Galle (2015/2016), and Indika Phone Shop, Matara (2014/2015) were recognized as 2nd runners-up.
