Apple announced that the official launch time for South Asia was 12 midnight on 10th November 2016, and so Abans were the first to launch the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in Sri Lanka at just one minute after midnight, at 00.01 on 11th November 2016.
Abans recorded phenomenal pre-order (fully paid) sales of 1500 units even before the official launch and of these 250 lucky customers were first to pre order was invited for the official launch to experience this amazing iPhone for the first time in Sri Lanka and to collect their iPhones. The 250 customers, including Dr. Amila Rajapaksa who was the first customer, who pre ordered 2 iPhone 7s by paying from his Nation Trust Bank American Express Credit Card received gifts of Smart Watches, Screen Protectors and Apple iPhone covers.
