Ayurvedic Medical Council cautions media

23 October, 2016

The Ayurvedic Medical Council has decided to raise awareness among media institutions about publicity given to medical discussions, feature articles and so on relating to ayurveda.

The Ayurvedic Medical Council has felt the need to closely monitor the articles and discussions to which publicity is given by the media. The idea behind this is to caution the media against dissemination of inaccurate information about Ayurveda. Hence the decision to introduce a set of guidelines.

When panel discussions, lectures etc. are held by both print and electronic media it is important above all to verify whether the interviewee is registered with the Ayurvedic Medical Council.

This preventive measure is needed to counter the threat posed by quacks.
