A lonely fish speaks

5 June, 2022

Hello, I am Angel. I am a fish. I live in a beautiful glass house. My house is clean and spacious. It is decorated with pebbles, coral, sea shells, colourful lights and ornaments. There is a statue of a little mermaid, and I talk to her, even though she doesn’t answer. There is a little treasure chest with gold coins in it.

I am the pet of a little girl called Lily. She is very kind, and generous too. She looks after me well. She feeds me with tasty food three times a day. She never forgets to wish me ‘good bye’ before she goes to school.

I also have an enemy. It’s pussy, my little mistress’s cat. It tried to eat me, but luckily there is a hood on the top of my glass house, so I’m safe.

But when I feel alone, I remember the days I spent in the ocean with my friends and family. I remember my mother warned me not to go too far, away from her. It all happened when I was swimming with my friends far away. A strong current separated me from my friends, and now I am stuck here alone in a glass house, and no one to talk to me.

When all those memories come to my mind, I wish I had listened to my mother, then none of this would have happened. But now, it is too late for regrets. I can’t go to my mother again.
