Sigiriya

13 February, 2022

Sigiriya is in the Matale district. It is an ancient rock fortress. Sigiriya was built by King Kashyapa. He built his palace on top of this rock. Beautiful artwork has been drawn on this rock.

The outside of the rock looks like a lion. It is called the Eighth Wonder of the World. It is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. The word Sigiriya means the Lion's Rock. It also has 1,200 steps to reach the top. Visit this place whenever you are free to go.
