Second Prize
My favourite book is Lorna Doone. It is written by R.D. Blackmore. The book was first published in 1869 by Sampson Low, Son, & Marston. The main characters in this novel are Lorna Doone and John Ridd. The Doone family are robbers. The Ridds are farmers and law abiding people. In the middle of the story, Lorna Doone and John Ridd fall in love with each other. But Carver Doone killed John Ridd’s father. This is a major problem for John Ridd. Later on Lorna Doone marries John Ridd and they live happily together. This is an interesting book. It is a novel one must read.
