Pandemics

31 October, 2021

Pandemics are major outbreaks of diseases which are spread worldwide by people and animals. In December, 2019, a disease named the Coronavirus or Covid-19 started spreading globally.

In 1918, a disease named the Spanish flu wiped out over 500 million people globally. It was the largest pandemic in the history of pandemics.

If a disease spreads only within a country or a region it is called an epidemic. The diseases Zika and Ebola were epidemics.

In the past, pandemics were begun by animals such as bats and snakes.

There are health regulations for pandemics and epidemics.

With the Covid-19 pandemic it is essential to wear a mask when we go out. We should go about only when it is absolutely necessary and should not touch anything.

When we come home we must bathe and clean or disinfect our possessions and other items which we have taken out or brought from outside.

Follow health guidelines and exercise to stay healthy and improve your immunity.
