Among the books I have read, The O’Sullivan Twins is one of my favourites. It is the second book in the St. Clare’s series which is written by the great British author Enid Blyton. It was first published by Methuen in 1942.
The story is based on the twins named Pat O’Sullivan and Isabel O’Sullivan who stay in a girls’ boarding school named St. Clares. Janet, Lucy and Alison are friends of the twins. But some don’t like the twins very much because they are naughty. Margery Fenworthy is a silent and hot tempered girl who is in the first form with the twins. But she has no friends to associate with. At last Margery gets to be a heroine in the school because she saves a girl from a burning building in the school. And that makes Margery start a new life, and she also makes a new friend named Lucy.
Janet who is a friend of the twins causes trouble for Mamzelle which makes her think she is going mad. But Janet apologizes to Mamzelle for the trouble she caused in school. Janet corrects the mistakes she made, but that’s not the end of the story. This book is very beautiful, enjoyable, and funny and it is composed of many scenes which makes the reader curious to read more and more.
