We started our Yala trip at 6.00 a.m. We made snacks and when the vehicle arrived we loaded our bags and drove from our home in Veyangoda. The van had eleven seats, one for me, Ammi, Thaththi, my brother, Puncha, Bappa and my two cousins. We ate breakfast at a super market which served only food. We drove again for a few hours and had lunch next to a big pond.
On our way we saw egrets, bee eaters and a kingfisher. We arrived at Jetwing Yala at 3.00 p.m., earlier than we expected. We were given three rooms and after leaving the bags in, went to the beach and the pool, when we saw an Asian elephant, barn swallows diving, a lesser-crested Tern and lots of wild boars. We ate dinner and went to bed.
All of us awoke at four in the morning next day and headed towards the safari jeep and started our trip at 5.30 a.m. We explored for five hours right through the park. We saw Asian elephants, Asian Water buffaloes, Sri Lankan wild boar, Sambhur, Red Muntajack, spotted deer, Crocodiles Toque macaques, Indian grey and brown mongoose and many more.
Next morning we got ready to go to Shangri-la, when we saw a purple-faced Langur. The journey tiresome.
