The coast guard ship, Sherman given to the Sri Lanka Navy by the US Government for expanding its naval operations sailed to Colombo harbour recently.
The Sri Lankan Navy welcomed it ceremonially. The crew consists of Captain Rohitha Abeysinghe with 22 officers and 11 sailors.
Several senior naval officers representing the Navy Headquarters and Western Naval Command participated.
