Delta Gemunupura Maha Vidyalaya, Kotmale achieved a great victory at the ‘International School Award [ISA] competition conducted by the British Council.
Their ISA project became one of the top ten projects competing with many well resourced schools all over Sri Lanka. The students got the opportunity to make a presentation on how they successfully completed their project in the presence of a large number of guests at the Award Ceremony held recently at Hilton Hotel, Colombo. It paved the way to showcase their talents and apart from that it became a window to bring the name ‘Delta Gemunupura’ to the world.
The students of Delta Gemnupura had a firsthand experience in exchanging ideas, views and culture as a set of students of ‘Doon Public School, New Delhi, India also visited Sri Lanka to participate in activities on this project.
Principal Sarath Dayananda, Vice Principals Samantha Jayatissa, Sagarika Gunathilake, Nawoda Dasanayake, Asanka Weerasinghe and members of the staff guided the students to bring the world to the classrooms of Delta Gemunupura Maha Vidyalaya. The project was successfully implemented by the students of the Bilingual Section [English Medium] with the support of the other students of the school.
