‘CentreStage Musicals’, a musical theatre performance by Jehan Aloysius in partnership with Cargills PLC. It will be staged on Friday, 14th of July at the Lionel Wendt Theatre.
This family show features excerpts from several of Jehan’s original musicals, such as ‘Rag - The Musical’, ‘Frankenstein’, ‘Venus United” and ‘Serendipity’. The star-studded lineup of soloists includes Sean Amarasekara, Dinushka (Bola) Jayawikreme, Bhanu Prabhasha, Dion Nanayakkara, Kumudini Perera-David and others. Jehan Aloysius, who composed and directs the performance, will also make a much-awaited appearance since his memorable performances in “The Phantom of The Opera’ and ‘Les Miserables’.
Jehan promises an evening of entertainment for the entire family with staged scenes and superlative performances.
The show marks the 22nd Anniversary of CentreStage Productions, which has created numerous groundbreaking plays and scripts that have travelled the world and have represented Sri Lanka at International Theatre Festivals including the Theatre Olympics. Jehan’s original work has been studied in local universities and six of Jehan’s scripts have been shortlisted or longlisted for the Gratiaen Prize for Literature in 4 separate publications since the year 2000.
