I took the car out
on a gloomy evening
and drove along
the A9
People busy
with farming and
harvesting before
the heavy rain
Cattle
being taken home
before nightfall
Boys naughty
flying their kites
up in the sky still
Crazy, crazy, crazy
buses drove fast
passing my
lazy car
Hot, hot, hot
hoppers being burnt
and served and shared
by two of two
Wayside trees
big, huge, gigantic
weren’t to be seen
where had they been
The lake filled
with water fresh
made room to fish both
the day and night
A candle’s
being lit to honour
a hero dead
for us a long time ago
