My country is Sri Lanka. It is an island in the Indian Ocean. Sri Lanka’s population is over 21 million. The people who live in Sri Lanka belong to different ethnic groups, speak different languages and practise different religions but all are Sri Lankans. There are many ethnic groups such as the Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and Burghers. There are many religions in Sri Lanka - Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity.
Sri Lanka’s national tree is the Na or Ironwood tree, the national flower is the blue water lilly, the national bird is the jungle fowl and the national game is volleyball. My country has a lot of tourist attractions. There are many historical places, beautiful beaches, sanctuaries, botanical gardens and waterfalls. I adore my country. I am proud to be a Sri Lankan.
