Sithum Dulketh A promising school high jumper

High jumping is one of the most popular athletic sports in the world. In Sri Lankan schools athletes also do the high jump. We have a lot of up-coming school stars in the high jumping event.

Maheegodage Sithum Dulketh is also a young rising high jump star in the Sri Lanka schools’ athletic field. Sithum is a Grade 9 student of Boys’ Model School in Malabe.

Sithum started his high jump career in Grade 6 and after that he came under the guidance coach Imalka.

He participated in many athletic meets such as division, provincial and all-island competitions. In 2022, he won the Silver medal in the Provincial High Jump event and Sithum will participate in the All-Island competition in the coming days.

Sithum is an energetic athlete and he has in-born talent.

He wishes to thank his father, mother, sister, grandmother and also the Principal and teachers of Boys’ Model School in Malabe, Ms. Sumudu and teacher Hemantha for giving him the encouragement in his sports career.

Sithum wants to do his best in high jump and his dream is to participate in international level athletic meets such as the South Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Olympics.

Junior Observer readers wish young Sithum that all his dreams come true in the near future.
