Lost in the castle

4 September, 2022

Last weekend, my friend and I went hiking in a hilly area. We were enjoying the day when I suddenly spotted a castle on the top of a hill nearby. The sun was setting against its crumbling spires which gave it an aesthetic look.

We had planned to spend the night in tents, but the castle provided better shelter, so we decided to stay and explore the castle. It was pretty dark after sunset, so we explored it by candle light. Our presence disturbed the resting bats and the wavy shadows gave us an eerie feeling.

Then, suddenly, we heard the sound of metal clanking. Naturally, we started running but immediately discovered that we had lost our way. While searching frantically, I discovered a secret door hidden under a portrait. I grabbed my friend and pushed her out. When I was leaving, there appeared suddenly, a knight in a rusted suit of armour.

I shut the door and ran for my life. We ran down a tunnel and at last reached the end. We scrambled out of a trap door and breathed the fresh air. Behind us we heard the knight’s ghost roaring, “You who enters my domain shall answer to my sword”.

Suddenly we saw a bright light. I blinked my eyes and woke up in my bed. It was an interesting dream, but I would not like it in reality.
