Good health

Health is a state of being free from diseases and disabilities, and having physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being. The five themes of health promotion are; creating a healthy environment, getting help from the community, improving knowledge and skills, developing policies which promote health and re-orientating and making optimal use of health services.

Physical health is the state of being free from diseases and being physically fit. We should consume a balanced diet which contains carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. We should have plenty of clean water and exercise for at least ten minutes in the morning.

Engaging in sports helps us to strengthen our bones and muscles and to control our weight.

Mental health is the ability to face challenges successfully and be a productive and happy member of society. We should get adequate rest and sleep to relax our body and reduce stress. Playing many brain related games like puzzles and chess will sharpen our brains.

Social health is the ability to maintain healthy relationships. If a person is friendly and attends social gatherings, he is considered as a person with a good social health.

Spiritual health is to have a meaning in life, and to be able to maintain healthy relationships. It creates a balance between physical, psychological and social aspects of human life. Spending time with nature is a good example of spiritual health.

Good health is the most valuable gift one can have on this planet. There is an old saying which is ‘Health is wealth’. Good health is the secret behind every happy person.
