My country is Sri Lanka. It is an island in the Indian Ocean. It is called the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’. It is a small country. Sri Lankans are friendly and helpful.. The Mahaweli is the longest river and Piduruthalagala is the highest mountain. 
Sri Lanka exports tea, rubber and coconut. Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte, the capital and Colombo is the commercial capital.
The country is divided into nine provinces. Our tea is popular all over the world. There are mountains, flower gardens, waterfalls, rivers, jungles and sanctuaries in Sri Lanka.
Many communities live in Sri Lanka. There are Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and Burghers. I love my country and I’m so proud to be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
