Henry Ford was a renowned car manufacturer in the USA. He introduced the ‘Model T’, the first car with a V8 engine. This became very popular among Americans as it was very affordable.
Ford was born on July 20, 1863 in Wayne County, Michigan, USA. As a young boy, he didn’t enjoy farmwork but loved to repair timepieces. Henry Ford left home when he was 16 years old and worked as a machinist. In 1890, he was hired as an engineer for the Detroit Edison Company.
In 1908, Henry Ford introduced the revolutionary ‘Model T’. It was very affordable, simple to operate and durable. Many Americans bought it as it was affordable. It was also the first car to be manufactured on a ‘moving assembly line’. This saved much money and time.
After a successful career in the automobile industry Henry Ford died on April 7, 1947. His contribution to the automobile Industry was immense. In 1990, Fortune magazine named Henry Ford as the ‘Man of the Century’.
