Continued from last week
When the wolf came out of the forest it saw the little red bird, the cat and the duck. The wolf wanted to gobble them up fast as he was so hungry.
The little red bird was perched right on top of the big tree. On seeing the wolf the cat climbed up to where the little red bird was as fast as it could.
The bird and the cat waited with bated breath to see what was going to happen.
The duck
The poor duck was so frightened that it couldn’t think straight. It jumped right out of the pond and started to waddle away as fast as it could. But the wolf was quicker and caught the poor duck in its mouth.
Snap and that was the end of the poor duck.
After gobbling the duck, the wolf started to walk round and round the tree. It kept looking at the cat the bird and they felt very frightened.
Peter found a long rope and climbed to the top of the wall. He told the little red bird to fly round and round the wolf’s head and make him dizzy. Peter also told the bird to make sure that he was no where near the wolf’s big and wicked mouth.
The wolf is dizzy
The little red bird flew round and round the wolf’s head. The hungry wolf tried and tried to catch the bird but could not.
Finally, the wolf felt dizzy as the little red bird was flying round and round his head, As he was dizzy the wolf couldn’t keep standing and he fell down.
Peter climbed up the big tree and dragged the long rope up the tree.
Then he let it down and caught the big, bad wolf by the tail.
The wolf jumped up and down and struggled to free himself but he could not as Peter held the rope tight.
Two hunters
Just then Peter’s grandfather came out and seeing Peter on the tree shouted ‘What are you doing up there”?
“I have got the wolf by the tail” said Peter and lifted the trapped wolf by the rope and showed his grandfather.
As Peter showed the wolf to his grandfather two hunters came looking for the wolf. They wrapped the wolf in a net and took him away to a large forest far from where Peter lived.
After this, Peter’s grandfather allowed him to play in the meadow as there was no danger from the big, bad wolf. The little red bird and the cat were Peter’s playmates.
