There was once a little boy who had a very bad temper. He would always be angry and say mean things. One day his father gave him a bag of nails and said, that everytime he got angry to hammer a a nail into the fence.
On the first day that boy hammered 37 nails into that fence. As the days passed he did not hammer that many nails into the fence because he did not get angry as before.
Finally, the boy stopped getting angry and saying mean things. So, he stopped hammering nails into the fence. When he told his father about it his father suggested that the boy should now start pulling out the nails one by one every time he didn’t get angry.
After many days there were no more nails in the fence. The boy went back and told his father. The father took him by the hand and led him to the fence. “ You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence.
The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. It won’t matter how many times you say sorry, the wound will still be there.
The moral of this story
Control your anger and be nice. If ever you are angry, don’t say anything, just be quite until you are no longer angry.
