Adjust your summer plans accordingly Stranger Things fans, as Season 4 of the hit Netflix series is coming your way.
After terrifying us with a chilling social media clip earlier this fall, Stranger Things shared a new trailer and episode titles for the upcoming fourth season, which is now confirmed for a summer 2022 release date.
Everything looks normal as the trailer begins. Eleven provides the narration, her voice reading aloud from a letter she’s sent to Mike. Detailing her seemingly ordinary life at her new school, Eleven confirms that she’s adjusting to life in California. While her letter skims over the true details of her struggles, including difficulties making friends and some unrelenting teasing, Eleven looks forward to reuniting with Mike, affirming, “We will have the best spring break ever.”
LOL, as if any of the Stranger Things children could ever have a normal spring break. After the trailer momentarily fades to black, a number of images are rapidly flashed across the screen, including a creepy night at the roller rink, an eerie-looking statue, and it all ends with one major explosion.
Fans will have to piece together the clues until Stranger Things returns, but in the meantime, the show’s official Twitter account did share the names of episode titles. The names don’t reveal much, but there is one called “The Massacre at Hawkins Lab” and another simply labelled “Papa.”
If it seems like you’ve been waiting an unusually long time for the premiere of Stranger Things, you would be correct. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, production was temporarily paused, but later resumed with safety precautions in place.
Meanwhile, there’s been little for fans to go on regarding the show’s return. However, Caleb McLaughlin did confirm that viewers are definitely in for some surprises, telling Complex that it’s “definitely different from the last couple of seasons.” He added, “I’m thinking about what we’ve been filming and I’m just like, ‘Wow. No one knows what is to come. It’s insane.” Summer can’t come soon enough.
