
Phrasal verbs are an important feature of the English language. The meaning of a phrasal verb often bears no relation to the meaning of either the verb or the particle which is used with it. Many phrasal verbs have several different meanings.
Gone off with (take something without asking)
Somebody has gone off with my bicycle.
Go on (continue to happen)
The art exhibition will go on until October 30.
Be going on (to be almost a particular age)
Sylvia is probably 16 going on 17.
Go on at (criticise someone continuously)
Why do you want to go on at me about my clothes?
Go on to (start to do something after finishing something else)
I have to meet a friend in Colombo before going on to Kandy.
Go out (leave a place to go somewhere else)
Bob has gone out to bring his daughter from school.
Go out to (travel to another country to stay there for a long time)
Rocky is going out to Australia to start his teaching job.
Go over (visit a different country)

Go over to (leave one group to join a rival group)

Go round (visit someone where they are living)
I might go round after work and see how Nancy is doing.
Go round with (spend a lot of time with someone)
Roy has been going round with her for some time.
Go through (experience a difficult situation)
I am going through a difficult phase.
Go to (start doing something)
The two countries will go to war very soon.
Go together (if two things go together, they are usually found with each other)
Politics and corruption go together.
Go under (sink below the surface of the water)
The ship went under after the rescue operation.
Go up (if an account or rate goes up, it rises)
The prize of fuel will go up again.
Go up to (reach a particular place)
Flood water will go up to the first floor of the building.
Go with (if an activity goes with another, they often happen together)
Crimes go with drug addiction.
Go without (not to have something you usually have)
I don’t like to go without my umbrella.
