
Stephen Hawking is a world famous theoretical physicist and a cosmologist. He was born on January 8, 1942. Stephen Hawking researched the physics of black holes and he wrote Black Holes: The Reith Lectures and Big bang to black holes, books which are related to black holes.
Unfortunately, when this great man was 21 years old he got infected by a disease called ‘Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis’ (ALS). This disease got really bad, but Stephen Hawking didn’t go down. He worked hard and became a very talented scientist.
The Presidential medal of freedom, the Copley medal, Albert Einstein medal, Albert Einstein award, the Eddington medal, Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society, James Clerk Maxwell Medal and Prize are some of the awards that have been won by this brilliant man.
Stephen Hawking received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from University College Oxford in 1962 and a doctorate in physics from Trinity Hall, Cambridge, in 1966. This great man died on March 14, 2018 in Cambridge, England.
