My country is Sri Lanka. An It is an island in the Indian Ocean and is also called the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean. It is an agricultural country.many are farmers. Our staple food is rice.
There are several communities in our country. We gained Independnce in 1948. Sri Jayewardenepura is the capital while Colombo is the commercial capital. The main exports are tea, rubber and coconut. Some clothes and food are imported.Pidurutalagal is the highest mountain and the Mahaweli is the longest river. My country has waterfalls and ancient ruins. I love my country.
