Anagarika Dharmapala was a Sri Lankan Buddhist revivalist and a writer. He was the first global Buddhist missionary. He was born on September 17,1864 in Matara.
His parents are Don Carolis Hewavitharana and Mallika Hewavitharana. He was one of the founding contributors of the non-violent Sinhala, Buddhist nationalism and a leading figure in the Sri Lankan Independence movement against British rule.
Anagarika Dharmapala died on April 29,1933 at Samathvarani, India.
